Morning Smoothie - Start Your Day Fueled

I love this smoothie recipe.  It has got me through many a winter free of colds and flu.

Who doesn’t love that?

I found that I like to run some of the ingredients through the juicer (just because I didn’t like all the fibrous pulp), and then add the juice to the blender and mix it all together.

First, I fill up my just cleaned and rinsed sink with cold water and plunge all the veggies in it and scrub them just to get the dirt off, also the apple, lemon and ginger. Rinse them and let them dry on a clean kitchen towel while getting the frozen berries and pineapple out of the freezer into the blender. Chunk up the cucumber, add the flax seed, vanilla and stevia or honey.

Now prepare the veggies to be juiced, cut off the ends of the celery, carrots, lemon ( peel the apple because the skin makes the throat itch), cut the apple into quarters and with a spoon, scrape the thin skin off the ginger.

Into the juicer goes the carrots, lemon, celery, apple ginger.  Then into the blender, add the extra water, If you want it cold, add ice. Blend it thoroughly.  You can add your pro-biotics here if you like or even your green protein powder.

Get creative, you may want it more creamy, add an avocado, or yogurt.

All I can say is Morning Smoothie is DELISH!

I sometimes make extra and pour them into empty pint or quart jars or Kombucha bottles to the top and put it in the fridge for the next day.
